Dave’s Kites

Here is the latest design to come out of the sewing machine - an angry mouse. Recently I have seen some really interesting designs at the Kid Robot site. I think that it would be really nice to see some other kites based around this style. It makes a nice change from the multi-coloured sea creature genre which I think has been done to death. Now it’s time to turn to the dark side! PLAN NOW ONLINE!

Here is the Pacman kite! It flies quite well in a light to medium wind without a pilot kite. In higher winds it gets a bit crazy, but is a challenge. It is pictured above flying on its own on a fine summers day. Check out the completed projects page to see another Pacman that has been made in the Netherlands. Following a few years of testing the plan is ready. The Line Foil is based on a regular parafoil, except the internal ribs have been replaced with lines. This produces one large, lightweight cell. The kite flies well at a high angle of attack. Get creative and give one a go!
